Host

Introduction

The host and hostess are our first line of defense when it comes to the V Pizza experience. They are the first person to greet guests and the start of a customer’s experience. Hosts or hostesses work closely with other team members and management to ensure customers have an excellent dining experience and are responsible for controlling the flow of dining service.

Join the best team in our authentic V Pizza culture. We offer a competitive starting salary of $16/hr for those with little experience but a strong work ethic and up to $20/hr for highly efficient kitchen workers and experienced front-end staff. We have both full and part-time positions available.

Responsibilities and Duties

The main functions of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Greeting guests in a warm and friendly manner
  • Providing relevant information, accurate wait times and monitoring the wait list
  • Escorting customers to appropriate seating arrangements 
  • Assisting with table clearing, wiping down tables/chairs, and running dirty dishes to appropriate station or dish pit area
  • Coordinating with wait staff and management on available seating options
  • Communicating with management on reservations, customer discrepancies, and dining room emergencies or messes
  • Maintaining a clean and organized reception area
  • Ability to answer phones and communicate clearly and precisely

Qualifications and Skills

  • While restaurant experience is not required, customer service experience is preferred
  • Must be organized, attentive, and communicate clearly
  • You must be a team player and work well with others, especially in high-stress situations
